A typical day in Spanish class

Your instructor will design lessons that challenge you to communicate in Spanish. You won't just learn about Spanish, you'll actually use it. Through rich language input, music, videos, games, and lots of conversation, you’ll steadily build fluency in Spanish every day.

A typical class starts with a warm-up that helps students remember what they learned before. Then students will connect what they already know to new words and structures. Then they'll try out their learning through practice activities that progress from simple to complex. We will be speaking a lot of Spanish!

There will be daily homework assignments, both online and on paper, to reinforce what you learn in class and help you retain new information. It is expected that learners will make a lot of mistakes--that is part of the learning process!

Spanish classes usually develop a warm and informal atmosphere that is supportive and fun. We all contribute to and celebrate each other’s learning.

We'll also virtually explore the Spanish-speaking world through photographs, videos, blogs, news websites, and more.
