First-year Spanish
Oregon Coast Community College offers six pairs of courses to progress through beginning and intermediate Spanish. Each course recycles and builds upon knowledge from the previous courses. In Spanish classes you will develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural competence.
Course numbers ending in C indicate a 1-credit Conversation course that pairs with the corresponding 4-credit lecture course. These courses ensure students have plenty of time to practice speaking. Students should take the lecture and conversation courses together.
"C" is for Conversation
A robust review of 100-level Spanish sets the stage for adding nuance and detail to your vocabulary. You will describe personalities, emotions, interests, hobbies, and observations on day-to-day life. You will also refine your ability to narrate past events.
